PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1993-Present Law Offices of Jon D. Lydell
I opened up my own practice after immediately after
graduation. From the beginning, the main emphasis in my
practice was in family law and juvenile delinquency matters
with more than 80% of my cases being in these areas. In the
family law arena, I am experienced with custody and
visitation issues, child support, temporary and permanent
spousal support; valuation and division of personal and real
property, including pension and retirement plan divisions,
Pereira and Van Camp valuations of community property
interests in separate property businesses; and the use of
economic experts for forensic cash flow and business value
evaluations.
I also handle other legal issues concerning families,
such as guardianships, conservatorships, probating
decedent's estates, and juvenile.
I am on the court approved list for Minor’s Counsel in
Sacramento County, as well as for court appointed probate
attorneys. I am on the panel for pro tem judges for
Sacramento County.
1980-1993
I was the owner and manager of a multi-state company,
that at various times had operations in Virginia, Texas and
California.
PERSONAL HISTORY
I have been married since 1981. My wife and I have three
children, a 15 year old daughter, a 13 year old daughter,
and an 11 year old son. Both my daughters were born while I
was in law school, and my son was born shortly after I took
the bar exam. When I am not practicing law, the vast
majority of my time is spent with my family.
